The other day, I attended an interesting networking event where the theme was the future of the sales team—something close to my heart. It inspired me to revisit some of my previous articles from 2024. The theme? Curiosity as a driver of growth.
Curiosity as a Driver of Growth
I see curiosity as a key ingredient when we talk about growth—especially in a constantly evolving world with many factors at play. Curiosity is the fuel that drives us to ask the right questions, challenge the status quo, and discover new opportunities. To ensure sustainable growth, we must approach the task with an open mind and let curiosity guide us.
We can achieve this by:
– Exploring new markets, trends, and technologies
– Asking questions that open up new perspectives
– Challenging existing assumptions and ways of working
– Learning and adjusting along the way
One of my favorite questions when working with growth strategies and commercial development is:
Where will the growth come from?
There are often many exciting ideas about how to grow, but when we dig deeper, it becomes clear that defining it concretely is a complex task. Should growth come from organic development, acquisitions, product innovation, sales development, or market expansion? Or a combination of these?
We often look to market trends like sustainability, AI, and digital solutions—but to succeed, we must also consider another key dimension: our core business and competencies. Where do your strengths lie, and how can you differentiate yourself further to create sustainable growth and value? To truly succeed, we must engage the entire business in the process.
In a world of constant change and unpredictability, staying in motion is essential—both as a company, a leader, and an individual. Adaptability and openness to new impulses are the keys to progress.
KOM = Keep On Moving
KOM – Keep On Moving is my mantra for maintaining momentum without losing direction. Being in motion means continuously finding new ways to express and strengthen our core values. It’s a balance between continuity and innovation.
As leaders, we have a special responsibility to show the way and create space for dialogue—even when we don’t have all the answers. By staying curious, we learn more about ourselves and our surroundings. And perhaps most importantly, we can support each other in driving development and progress.
Small adjustments can make a big difference, and together, we become more resilient and ready to take the next step. Because when we say *KOM (Keep On Moving)*, we also say, *We can do this.* It’s not about having all the answers but about the will to keep going. Together, we can create change.
Curiosity, Adaptability, and Future Growth
In a time when technology, sustainability, and market conditions are evolving rapidly, maintaining curiosity and adaptability is essential. The sales team plays a central role in turning strategies into growth—but this requires knowledge, openness, and strong cross-functional collaboration.
By combining insights into trends like sustainability and AI with a deeper understanding of the company’s core business, we can not only navigate change but also create real value for both customers and the organization.
So let’s maintain momentum—Keep On Moving—and continue to challenge, adapt, and develop. Growth doesn’t happen by itself; it comes through curiosity, action, and the courage to take the next step.
